The Boy loved walking his dog
Whatever the weather, rain or fog.
He walked all day, for hours on end
Driving his dog, around the bend.
For the dog got so tired, could hardly stand;
So The Boy, had to carry him with both hands.
His mother saw them in the street,
Her Boy could hardly move his feet.
Lifting the dog and her son onto her back
She felt she was carrying a heavy sack.
His mother too began to weaken,
His father, this episode he had an inkling.
Thought he’d follow and find his wife.
He saw her stumbling, in the street.
He swept them up, what a feat!
Later, staggering with this heavy weight;
From nowhere, Granny emerged in her car;
Saving the day, she was the star.
The Boy now walks his dog, for a shorter time
Finishing well, before supper time.
