Disturbing Person

Exploding with laughter he leapt into my life
And Cypriot sunshine engulfed the whole
place.
Complex, clever, kind and astute,
Sensitive, assertive, but never morose.
This man from the ancient, this man of now,
This man for everyone is nobody’s man.
Maybe, like laughter, all suddenly will cease;
But the echo of the memory, for me, is
indelibly placed.
For his sudden departure left me confused.
I begged him to stay, but he refused.
A sweetened flavour can leave a bad taste.
The extent of the damage? Who knows.
The Self has a strength.
I run with the wolves.
Another chapter, another story, another me.
