The Boy Who Wouldn’t Stop Being Naughty

The Boy just wouldn’t stop being naughty,

When his mother asked him to come in for tea,

He thought to himself no, not me.

I want to stay playing here.

I’ll pretend I didn’t hear.

When asked to go up, for bath and bed,

He firmly said, “I’m staying here instead.”

His mother was in deep dismay,

A demon had got inside her son,

Used to do as he was told,

He was always, as good as gold.

“What has happened to change you so ?

I would dearly love to know.

Your behaviour has brought me down so low.”

His mother was so very sad,

That her son’s behaviour was so bad.

Life was happier long ago,

That demon inside him has to go.

The Boy too, didn’t like who he’d become,

Unhappy,angry, and impolite.

He’d ask his granny, to shed a light.

Looking carefully into his ears,

She told him, there was still some gorgeousness there.

But to make it grow, the demon had to go.

He must listen to the right voice, that was his choice.

Then the demon would go, and gorgeousness would grow,

His home and the world would be a pleasanter place.

He took her advice, we can see this, from his smiling face.
