The Boy Who Wouldn’t Stop Chewing Gum

The Boy’s jaws ached, but he couldn’t stop chewing,

He liked the crunch, the taste, the bubble blowing.

One day a huge balloon he blew

Then popped it, startling, quite a few.

Winding the gum, around neck and cheek

He was surprised and proud of his artistic streak.

Until he realised, his massive mistake,

His deep dismay, was no fake.

The sticky gum had stuck like glue,

He didn’t know what to do,

With tears in his eyes, he shouted for his mother;

Shocked at the sight, were his sister and brother.

His mother, horrified at what she saw,

Screamed he must chew gum no more,

And to the hospital they both tore;

A healing potion on his body was poured.

The gum eventually lost its grip

Leaving stripes of white and of pink,

The Boy and his mother were so relieved,

The misery of gum, cannot be believed.
