The Boy Who Wouldn’t Go To Bed

“Up to bed” his mother said

But no, he wouldn’t go,

Again she pleaded with her boy

Bribing him, with a brand new toy.

Still the Boy refused to go.

“What can I do,” the mother thought,

Down the stairs his bed she brought;

He stared at it with a frown,

Refusing to slip under the sheets cream and brown.

She moved the bed into the yard ,

overlooking the sleeping town,

With a bound he was in his bed,

Gazing at the stars overhead.

Sleeping at last, watched by the moon,

Why oh why, couldn’t he sleep in his room?
