Finding a Chairman

The abused children and their families
Are left in limbo,
As the fumbling Home Office civil servants
Search for a leader of integrity,
To give due diligence to the promised inquiry.
Youngsters were at risk in their debased community.
Called liar by police, more interested in immigrant harmony;
A chairman is proving illusive, to head the promised scrutiny.
The two chosen were tainted by association.
Now the Home Secretary is casting around
Will search abroad I’ll be bound.
I wonder if the will for an inquiry is to be found.
Will heads have rolled twelve months from now?
In the world of child care, many able members there,
Who can see the salient issues, and findings would be fair.
And what of the victims, who have yet again, been let down,
Apologies from society and compensation, must be speedily found.
