My Cypriot Garden

How quiet and glorious is my garden.
The flowers and fauna thrive in sunshine and a little water.
The succulents thorny, in their gravel bed spread
Rewarding us with a surprise, a flower instead.
They are not greedy like the weed that smothers tender shoots.
But produce their sturdy offspring quietly and assuredly.
Robust, disease free, some with thorns that scratch,
Others changing colour my attention to catch.
The cloudless pure blue sky,
Stroked by swaying palm trees striving to grow high.
My garden, tended by those who care.
It’s unique beauty, of which we can only stare.
