Granny and Felix. Twenty six months

Felix runs so very fast
If in competition, all the others would be last.
He races towards the lake, fringed with swans ducks and geese
His little legs seem motorised, embracing adventure at great speed.
Felix is very anxious for the swans to feed and please.
I race to catch the little chap before he flings himself in.
The hungry swans advance on Felix who is now smaller than they,
Who, terrified turns to his granny, safe there to stay.
Courageously though with outstretched arms he throws like a famous bowler,
The morsel of food is retrieved by the bird, to the delight of the thrower.
We then return home, for supper bath and bed.
Felix is concerned, that his food is too hot
He jerked his hand, his supper, across the room shot.
And so up stairs we go counting all the way
To the bathroom where he’ll find more things to play.
He helps, by telling me, the water is ok
He saw I’d removed his toys the rubber mat, to lay.
I rescued the priceless porcelain he found, to replace the plastic ducks!
With whoops of laughter over bubbles waves and spray,
He reluctantly abandons his bath for another day.
After I repeatedly read, a book about a London taxi,
He agreed to get into bed, say night night, and slumber.
