The New President

Determined he strode purposefully into the
arena.
He, who had won the hearts and votes of his
fellow countrymen.
The first black American to lead his great nation.
A young man, so much, too much expected of
him.
Serious financial problems were upon them, he
gave warning.
Decisions had to be made decisively and swiftly
to save the economy.
Internal infrastructure jobs had to be created.
Soldiers from war to return, peace must flourish
in the Middle East.
A young man, so much, too much expected of
him.
He declared education and health services had to
be addressed.
Global fairness, to persist he firmly stressed.
And the world heard, hoping for a miracle.
A young man expected to deliver, so much, too
much for far too many.
