The Drought

In December, two thousand and eight,
Our dam a puddle, still no rain in sight.
Cyprus, where water rationing is the call.
Stop go control, causes pressure to rise and fall;
And sweet water is wasted in leaks in the land
And the fear of bacteria entering the system, we
stand.
Cyprus, from Greece, costly water is buying.
Pure water is wasted, on irrigation, and flushing.
Rain water falling in underground tanks, for
storing;
In future, may help our island, so very thirsty.
Water, our most precious commodity,
A summit, every year, there should be.
Attended by the world’s most renowned
engineers.
What staggering global improvements we would
see, through the years!
