See Me

See me as a soldier, trained and ready to go
To serve my Queen and country and give my
life as well.
My uniform is made in China, quality not so
good,
As when English woven, stitched by English
hands.
See me scanning magazines
For equipment that could save me.
Great Britain can only spend so much –
So I must help with that cost.
See me and my family in houses built in fifty
three.
See them blaze; the wiring could be faulty.
See me in Court, on a dram too many charge.
See the sentence, when the breathalyzer could
be faulty.
See me in civilian hospital;
The M O D closed ours down.
See me return from war,
No civic person to welcome me home.
