Humble Verse

Michael

My lover lies in deep slumbering bliss,
His sweet breath reaching to the heavens to
kiss.
All is quiet, save the beating of my heart,
Beating in horror should we ever have to
part.
I lie still, with my lover close beside me.
All is at peace and tranquil in London town,
The moon shines quietly down,
Casting delicate light upon the sheet.
How strange to share, yet not to share
These sweet precious moments of love.
He asleep and I awake having each other to
care;
To observe and understand only the moon
above.
Lighter and lighter grows the moonlit sky
And all too soon these moments will die.
And you and I will start a brand new
sparkling day;
‘I slept well and am happy’, I hope you will
say.
