The Magic Mini
Electrifying Adventures Through History. The Mini is a time machine. Its owner is an unusual man, the great-grandfather of two brothers who, with their next-door friend Innis, their dog Holly and sometimes a cat called Marmalade, travel through the mists of time, experiencing first-hand what life was like long ago.
The variety of adventures and scrapes they get into gives a real depth and taste of history that children will always remember, stories to be enjoyed by everyone.
It was never formally published: only 100 copies were printed and given away to children to make them smile. Lady Elizabeth is looking to resurrect the book for official publication in the near future.
Cyprus Symphony
Lady Elizabeth's first collection of poetry. Arriving in Cyprus in 2005, she was struck by the warmth of the country and the kindness and humour of its people, and set out to capture her experience of the island and the many friends she made there. It seemed to her a kind of symphony, written in verse, as Elizabeth Haslam.
Cyprus Symphony was written for AGAPI, a non-profit organisation in Limassol supporting people in need. It was never formally published: only 200 copies were printed.
Famous Firsts
While working in the pensions department at Marks & Spencer, Lady Elizabeth became involved with the Elderly Invalids Fund, a charity that provided invaluable support in helping pensioners discover the benefits that they were entitled to.
Wanting to give something back, she devised Famous Firsts, a fundraising book in which prominent public figures were invited to answer five questions about memorable "firsts" in their lives, including their first love and first job. The contributors responded generously, and the book became a success. To mark its publication, it was given a prominent display in the window of Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge.
