Walk Down

Don’t walk down to the sea of souls
I will go alone.
There I will see her who has gone astray
Struggling moaning floundering around.
Her arm reaches out fingers splayed
Only to disappear again under the foam.
Don’t walk down to the sea of souls,
I will go alone
There I will see her who’s guilt has weighed her down.
Her face is furrowed her forehead frowns
She does not reach out for help
But turns away and sinks further down.
Don’t walk down to the sea of souls
I will go alone
There I will see him struggling and scared
Not listening nor grasping the outstretched hand.
So many sinking sad unhappy souls,
We must not join them in their dark dank holes.
But give belief her smile her laugh.
Her hair spreads out like a silken wrap
They can grasp the strong silk strands
And lever themselves up, she will take them where they will.
Let happiness and hope envelop them,
And there they are, at the top of their hill.
